Default Shudder on Decel

I see a lot of threads going with shuddering issues on accel, but I haven't seen any decel related. Is anybody experiencing a driveline shudder during braking? Mine has done this since day 1 and no different at 3500 miles. The dealer had it 2 weeks ago, worked with Ford Engineers for a couple of days to revamp the shift strategy since I already had the most recent flash, and shimmed the driveshaft. None of this worked and it's still shuddering after 2 weeks. I'm ready to take it in again but wanted to see if anybody else has had this problem and what type of resolution the dealer gave you.

The service manager took 4 similar trucks on the lot for a ride, and they all exhibited the same shudder during downshifting according to him. He said Ford acknowledges the problem, and he got the vibe that they are working on a new flash. Mine starts at around 20 mph and shudders down to 10 mph during normal braking. My personal opinion is that the trans is holding 4th gear too long in the downshift sequence. When it downshifts to 3rd, it goes away.

My uncle is a mechanic at a ford dealership. He said the problem is exactly as you stated they try to have the truck old the gears as long as possible to get better gas mileage. Not sure if this is true but that's what he told me.

I appreciate your input. That definitely makes sense. Does he know if they are working on correcting it or leaving it?
