Should I make an offer?
Unfortunately I won't know for sure if the vehicle was truly well maintained. At the under $18K price point their do not appear to be many low mileage, well maintained 2008-2010 F150s around Alabama. I guess I just need to save more over the coming months and hope the new '13 pushes prices down a tad.
Good or bad, the used truck market is ridiculous. Probably due to the fact that new ones are getting so expensive... but they just seem to hold their value for years and years. My local has an 07 xlt crew with 55k for 23......That's a lot of $ for a 5 year old truck when the new ones (with a bigger cab, better motor, etc) are only 30k....
I bought a 99 F250 that was commercial. Dealer gave me the phone number of the past owner. I hand that truck for 13 years, 200,000 miles. Loved it!
Ya I wouldn't pay that high for a commercial f150 with that many miles. On one hand, u could get lucky with the driver babying it all the time, but on the other hand, it's previous driver could've dogged it for those 97k miles.

Yeah, I passed on the high mileage 2010 XLT in the OP.
I submitted 2 offers of $20K yesterday on 2 identical 2010 XLTs. One had 46K miles and the other 70K (thanks kcb142). The counter offers have been $21K so now I just need to focus on one truck.
The low mileage 2010 XLTs are dropping towards 20K and I personally believe these are the best value for the money today.
