While in route to work this week had my rear defrost on and heard a loud bang like a gunshot and sure enough the drivers side of my back window shattered! It did not fall out and is OK to drive. My dealer is replacing it this coming Tuesday and it is covered under my ESP extended warranty. 54K on the truck, it's a 2013 I don't think the problem has been remedied yet!

My rear defrost stopped working and thankfully I haven't tried it in fear of the rear glass shattering. Ford has a new rear window on order for mine.

 

was this a solid glass or slider?

 

Glad your ep is paying for it. I don't use my rear defrost due to all the issues.

 

It's a power slider, only section behind driver shattered.
