Sharp Turn Rubbing Noise
#12
In my truck, I would notice that when I would turn right, and the occasional left turn, there would be a quick sudden rubbing sound. It would happen when I would turn on a street or when I was in a parking lot. The speed didn't matter. I took it to the dealership and told then it was rubbing, and the guy told me it was the ABS. He said it was common, but that there was nothing you can do about it. I carefully inspected the entire wheel Wells to see if I could find anywhere where it could be rubbing, and nothing. I even doing myself turn the wheels both ways completely to see if it even came close to rubbing, and nothing.
The ABS seems like the only plausible explanation since I have heard multiple people complain about it on here, plus the service manager seemed to know exactly what I was talking about when I told him. But best of luck with your truck, I know it can be frustrating.

It's seems very possible that its the abs. But I've been into the abs several times under hard breaking and have always felt it thru the brake peddle. Under light braking and abs activation it may not be so noticeable in the peddle

OK I found the trouble with mine it was the front turn stop on the passenger side there is a bump that is welded to the lower A-arm and it contacts the spindle at a different angle than the drivers side, looks like it was welded to high, the spindle is raw steel and has rust I could see the rub marks on it I drove it around the yard and it was making the noise when I turned left. added a little ep grease to the rub mark and tested it again and no more noise, I hope this helps some other...

If this was the case of the rubbing, then why did it just start doing it? I have driven my truck now for 7200 miles and just started doing it like at 6900 miles.

Yep, it's mostly all of the time only when you left turn.
If you are parked, and you turn your well all the way to the left, then take off, you will hear it. So i am not sure yet. It's going into the shop this week. We sill see what is going on and what they find. I will let you all know. I think i can get the scoop out of them if i bug them enough as to what they did to fix it.
