Shaky rear view mirror
I didn't see any threads discussing how to remove the rear view mirror from the windshield. My mirror shakes while driving and I'd like to see if I can figure out how to tighten it up to stop the shaking. It looks to be happening because there is play where the mirror mounts to the windshield. Can anyone tell me how to remove the mirror? I'm worried I might break something.
Look close at the mirror mount.
There is an Allen set screw that tightens the mount to the metal tab glued to the window.
I have had to tighten mine from time to time.
I don't remember but there may be a plastic piece to remove to access the screw.

I'll take another look. I didn't see a set screw when I looked yesterday but it's kind of an awkward spot to get a good look at.
I'm not finding a set screw. Any chance you could attach a pic of where your set screw is located?
So, I spaced out. I realized I had changed my mirror out to add a backup camera and it's not factory.
I pulled this out of the 2013 manual, this is one of 4 possible mirrors. None showing a set screw.
The above member who shimmed his might be the way to go maybe.

Appreciate the illustrations. Does the manual say how to remove the mirror? Looks like it might require a special tool. That doesn't bode well for me LOL.
this is it.
To me it looks like a straight push up.
Maybe there is a catch to release at the bottom.
The tool looks like it is just setting up to push only on the mirror frame.
If you Google mirror window mount repair, you will get a look at the metal piece glued to the windshield that may help you on your approach.
Good luck.

Thanks. Looks like there is a separate removal tool. I ended up making a couple small wooden wedges out of a popsicle stick and jamming one on each side. Hopefully they don’t cause the mirror to pop off the windshield lol. Thanks for the suggestions guys!
