Seats
And yeah, no grab bars in the new models are a beeyatch.
While indeed funny, I'll be the first to admit that I don't know everything about everything, so if someone feels they have a method that can help me then I'm all ears. Whether or not I actually follow thru w/it is up to me but IMO it would be foolish to think that "my way is the best way". I am considering getting leather and have pretty much always kinda plopped down into my cloth seat and now I know of a potential way to prolong this expensive upgrade if I decide to go that route. Thanks Bass.

I mean I don't want to sound like I'm telling people how they should be getting into their seats, I'm just trying to give people helpful suggstions on what in my experience make my nice leather seats last a long time, for those who are willing to listen of couse. And wow no grab bars in new models??? That does suck
Thanks for that.

Yes their are plenty of ways to improve the life of your seats. Have you never seen two same model vehicles with nearly same mileage and one have less wear in the driver's seat? When I buy a vehicle I always look at the wear in the driver's seat as it is a good indication of how well the car was taken care of. If someone thought enough of the vehicle to take care of the seats they must have thought a lot of the rest of the vehicle as well. You don't plop your butt in the seat as this wears out the cushion quicker and stretches the leather. The handle on your pillar posts are their for a reason. You use this to help you keep balance while you suspend yourself over the seat and sit down in it. You don't slide off to the side and drop off the edge of the seat to get out either as this will again stretch the leather and wear out the custhion on the edge of the seat wear it comes to a peak at the driver side door. You use the grab handle to lift yourself where you can then get a foothold on your running board or step panel and exit the vehicle.
I mean get out of the truck however you want that would be picky of me to sit here and tell you your doing it wrong, and it can be more difficult for older people. I know its hard on my knees too
. I just plan on keeping my truck till the wheels fall off and I want it to look the best it can while I have it. Doing little things like that will make your vehicle last longer and if you plan on selling your vehicle, is it not a turnoff to see an old cracked ugly looking seat with some of the leather pealing and cushion coming off? To me that's just a sign of someone who didn't care about the vehicle to much, and cares even less now beacuse they are trying to get rid of it.
That's just my thoughts and opinions on the subject. Sorry for kinda threadjackin.
And I'm not saying anyone who has a worn out seat doesn't care about their truck, some people don't mind that the seat is worn out and understand that it will happen from use. It's just something that catches my eye like when I was purchasing the truck I have now from the dealer, "Wow this previous owner put almost 60K miles on it in 1.5 years, but those seats sure do look good. They must have reallly taken care of the truck."

I would think a newer truck w/high milage would naturally have seats in better condition (makes me think a lot of highway miles w/out getting in and out of the truck constantly) vs a low milage truck that is driven lots of short trips w/ the driver getting in and out constantly,sliding-wearing on the seat. (if that makes any sense)
