Default seat belt alarm driving me crazy

This truck has to have the most annoying seat belt alarm ever.

Now, don't get me wrong, I wear my seatbelt on the road but when I'm driving around on my property in the country, where I run about 10 mph driving the fence line, I need to get in and out frequently and don't want to put the belt on each time.

can I get a part I can just click in the latch to shut that thing up while I driving around slowly checking on livestock and such?

Just disable the alarm. That's what I did.

Search for "seat belt disable." There's a few threads on how to do it.

Take the time to look through your owner's manual. Ford has had a disable feature that they've published in the manual ever since the inception of the chime.

I still scratch my head when I see people driving around and sitting on their seatbelt to shut the chime off. At some point in time common sense has to prevail.

The Toyota ones are far more annoying. You would think something is going to explode. Ford's you just turn off per the manual.

Preperation
1. the parking brake is set
2. truck in park
3. ignition switch is in off position
4. both seat belts are unbuckled

Disable Belt-Minder
1. turn the ignition switch to the on position, DO NOT START THE ENGINE.
2. wait until the safety belt warning light turns off. (approximately 1 minute).
* step 3 must be completed within 50 secs after the safety belt warning light turns off.
3. buckle then unbuckle the seat belt nine times, ending in the seat belt unbuckled.
* after step 3 the restraint warning light, (airbag light) will turn on for three (3) seconds.
4. within approximately seven (7) seconds of the light turning off, buckle then unbuckle the safety belt.
* the restraint system warning light will flash four, (4) times per second for 3 seconds for confirmation

you can do this for the passenger side also!!!

*NOTE
in step 3. after three times buckling and unbuckling the restraint warning light lit up in my truck. SO I WENT TO THE NEXT STEP, (STEP 4). waited 3 seconds and i buckled and unbuckled.

in the buckle /unbuckle procedure do it some what slowly and watch for the light. it may not take 9 times.

then again maybe i have the only truck that worked this way

Here you go!

And here's the link to the thread if that didn't work.

Ah gotcha. I'm in Abilene. Been here for about 5 years in the Air Force. Love the area!

On s slightly different subject but just as bad... If my truck would stop letting me know the driver door is open when I have the key in the ignition and engine turned off...most annoying!
