I was aware of the seatbelt disable feature, did that in my old explorer....but I ended up killing 2 birds with one stone. I bought a seatbelt extender, I found it difficult to buckle either because of the way I have my seat positioned....or my 6'5" 300lb frame:) Either way, it also disables the chime because something's plugged into it all the time, and I can easily plug in my belt now:)

Worked out just as listed Except instead of 9 x's .. Mine confirmed after 6 . Mine is a 2013 screw xlt , thanks again !

Any tang that will fit the buckle will also silence the reminder chime. I've made a few out of old edger blades and they work fine. The new trucks all use a standard tang. A seat belt out of almost any new car will also fit.

3-click method worked for my 2013 SCAB FWIW.

Make sure that you turn on the parking brake before you start the procedure. I assumed that the parking brake was just something that was in the manual as a safety precaution (for legal liability reasons) and didn't turn on the brake. I followed every other step precisely with no luck. After about 4 attempts, I finally wised up and tried it with the parking brake in the on position. it worked like a charm. I guess that the moral of the story is to follow directions.
