Crap, I don't use my cloud or "the cloud" is there anyway around this or anyway that makes it easy? Am I making it hard than it has to be?

No. Strategy tunes are the preloaded tunes from SCT and cloud tunes are custom tunes written and you are just downloading via the cloud with wifi rather then using the SCT updater program.
I usually always recommend using the SCT updater program to do any updates or load custom tunes rather then wifi though as the wifi can be buggy at times.
