Default Scratches on dashboard

Has anyone noticed how easy some of the dash trim scratches ? Specifically the trim panel around the headlight switch and the panel between the passenger airbag and the glovebox. The plastic seems pretty soft, and since it is black, shows everything. I was going to try using some black shoe polish or a crayon to carefully hide the scratches.

same here, my girlfriend was looking at my dash when i bought the truck and she said wow, this seems alot sturdier than your old truck, so for some reason she takes her nail and scratches the dash trim above the glove box, needless to say after some polishing it came out, but shes not allowed near the truck anymore haha

The trick to it is make sure you use a clean damp wash cloth it will put the texture back in the plastic. I had a bad mark on mine from my WIFE also...

I have the exact same problem. I replaced my stock radio and the silver trim piece on the right side scratched the black plastic trim that runs beneath the airbag. Looks like crap. did you ever fix it ?

I do a lot of reconditioning work. small scratches can be taken out by a heat gun, but u have to be careful and use it lightly.
