Default Scab Component Speaker Upgrade

I have a 2010 4x4 STX Scab with SYNC, and an audio system upgrade has been my top priority since I bought the truck. I have the single CD factory system, and want to keep my dash as-is, so I bought the JL Audio Cleansweep to integrate my new system.

Here's a list of what will be installed:
  • JL Audio CL441dsp=CleanSweep (installed under rear seat)
  • JL Audio XD 600/6=Amplifier (installed under rear seat)
  • JL Audio C5-570=Component Speakers (front doors)
  • JL Audio TR570-CXi=Coaxial Speakers (rear doors)
  • JL Audio 10W1v2 10"=Subwoofer (in a sealed box under rear seat)

I was hoping for some ideas of where to mount the tweeters up front.
For ease of installation, I was thinking of flush-mounting the tweeters at the highest point of the door panel, the defrost vent area. There's a sweet little triangle of hollow space there that's just begging for a tweeter (I know you guys know what I'm talking about)
However, in the models that come with the sony package, the tweeters are mounted on the 'A' pillars up front. Based on all the reading I've done, the ideal place for a tweeter is about 12" away it's respective woofer... so putting them on the 'A' pillars doesn't make sense to me, aside from utilizing the factory pillar trim that has the tweeter grille in it.

If anyone has done a Component speaker install, share some pics!

sounds like it should be great. For the tweeters you can do what I did and order the A-pillar plastic covers from a truck with the factory sony system that has a tweeter built in. They were only like a $100 and even come with the tweeters. I ordered them from tasca ford. This pic isn't mine but it shows them so....

Yup, those are the ones I was talking about
But, which would SOUND better... the A-pillar tweets, or door panel tweets?
Anyone out there with the Sony package have any complaints?

Oh yeah, planning on uploading lots of pics of the entire install
Looks like I won't have time to start the project until the weekend of the 20th.
