It is pretty easy just tell them once the laptop is connected, go to the tool box tab > module programming > programmable parameters > exterior lighting > the next screen is where the options are listed for DTRL. (Thanks to Rnlcomp for the path) Again this is only for the 13 and 14 model years. I was lucky and the second dealer I tried was willing to give it a shot and didnt charge me to do it. But I've heard some here are charged labor to hook up the IDS.
Pretty much the same for the 2011 and older. I was lucky and know the techs at my local dealer so they turned them off for me.

Got it done and it took about 5 minutes, no charge. When the DRL amber lights are on they are twice as bright as when they are on with the headlights. Glad to have this done.

What module controls the lights? Will the latest Snap On scanner be able to do this. The set up screen shows some modules.

Had mine done at the dealer. Only in a 2012 the DRL are the lowbeam lights. Not the amber lights.

The 12s have DRLs using the headlights here and the 13/14s use the ambers which look much better!
Only hid trucks from 13 and 14 have drl's as the parks. If the truck has halogen lights it's still the headlight like 12 and older. My xlt came with the drl's as the headlights but when the dealer parts guy activated my remote start I had him flip it to my park lights. My oem hid's should be in today or tomorrow so now it will all be like oem.

That's exactly what I needed to know!

So just to be clear...you have a 2012 with the halogen head lights and got your dealer to swap your DRLs from the head lights to the Amber park lights?

Its only the 13-14 year trucks that are able to do this. And if a dealer says they can't do it, then they are terrible. It took the dealership I go to a total of 45 seconds to change it. Plug in the computer go to exterior lighting and click the DRL's from headlights to marker lights, and thats it its simple.

Can't do it on a 2012, my friend has a 2012 and since factory HID's weren't an option in that year you can't change it, we tried
