I think if you dig deeper in to the vehicle code you will find that alternating or "wig wag" lighting is identified as emergency use, which is what these lights do.

I can appreciate the time and effort you put into this, and I am all about making vehicles safer, but if seen by the wrong cop on a bad day, it might get you hassled, who knows.

Those lights have an internal flasher, im sure they is a way to change a jumper or something inside of them to change the flash pattern.

Yeah that was the first thought that came into my head as well. The flash sequence looks like emergency lights. If that was all I saw while passing I would think it was a volunteer fire fighter or something. It needs to flash like a normal turn signal or I have a feeling your local law enforcement may not approve.

Don't get me wrong.. I think adding a turn signal light down there is a brilliant idea. It's kinda similar to how porsche put its side indicator lights.. on the front wheel well arch. It just needs to blink like a regular flasher.

Yes, they can be changed. If I remember correctly, there are 30 different patterns that can be programed. They wont blink at the same rate because they're not connected to the same flasher, but there are slower rates and patterns that utilize all 4 LED's at once instead of the 2x2 I have it set at now.

That looks sick. Recently over the weekend i instaled led lights on the brackets that hold my running boards on. wired them to my directionals so they blink. kinda the same thing you did just not as fancy. job well done

Agreed the mod is awesome but can be taken as an emergency vehicle passing them rather than overtaking the lane as a slower steady blink would suggest.

Very cool mod

Good idea if they could blink with the signal. I have the FX steps and think it might be easier with these!

Update--I did change the flash pattern so that all 4 LED's flash together (instead of the 2x2 "wig-wag" pattern). The flash rate is also slower to be more equal with the OEM flasher--definitely not the same, but closer.

Also, a little fabrication note--I wanted to recess the lights into the running boards so they weren't exposed to the possibility of getting "hit". So, they are recessed just enough so that the face of the light lens is flush with the edge of the running board. ( I didn't mention that before).
