Default Running board lights

Know this has probably been beat to death. I'm looking to put some LED light strips below my door on my crew cab to light the running boards up when the doors are opened or unlocked. Just wondering where to find the hot wire that works the light when the door is opened. I don't have the puddle lights in the mirrors. If any has picture of how to do this or how it will that would be helpful too. Also what would be a good light to use?

The wires you are looking for are behind the side panel passengers side foot well, had to tap off them for my power steps.

Default Light strips

I tapped into drivers side dome light. I think it was purple with a white tracer. Mine will come on with the unlock button on the key fob and time out with the dome light.
