Bob Mac what are the seamless ventshades and where do they sell them? Also, have you heard of anyone plastidipping their factory steps...living near Cincinnati, I would like to protect them from salty winter driving.

They are the AVS Seaqmless Ventshades and I believe I got them from RealTruck. I think there was someone who did the PlastiDip to their steps...not sure though, you would need to look at the PlastiDip threads to see.

Update! Last night the check engine light went out and the idle seemed to settle down. I still dropped it off at the dealer. They said they found a loose ground and they said that they didn't find any error codes. Who knows? But it is running great now so I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Good to hear! Seems like the loose grounds thing is common on our trucks?

Hey neighbor in Ridley - nice to see a few locals on here. Your truck is a 2011 EB screw? Just curious about the build date. I haven't had any issues with mine yet but I read a lot about these loose grounds in these trucks.

Glad to hear yours is running better. It almost sounds like your truck was relearning the idle - the manual says it will behave that way after the battery is disconnected until it relearns the idle. Doesn't say you'll get a CEL though.

Thanks neighbor! My build date is 5/14/2011. I missed that in the manual, and that sounds like it could have been what happened. The sad part is why didn't the dealer tell me when you disconnect the battery it can get a rough idle. They didn't mention anything about the relearning. Thanks again, I'll honk and wave to you on my way up the blue route.

Wow....OK...Any dealer that tells you they found a loose ground is basically saying we did not do anything and have no idea what we are doing and will do anything we can to blow smoke up our customers butt. I would go back and ask them which ground was lose? There are two main ones and if either one of those was loose you would have more that this issue. Other than that, very little is grounded to the motor now. It is mostly handled thru the harness.

Not saying it's impossible, but I would definitely ask what was the component that was not grounded properly.

I'm glad the problem is clearing up..could be that you need some run time on the PCM for things to settle in. I highly doubt that, but it is possible. When I load new tunes in my rig it does take about a week of starts and stops for everything to settle down. Sometimes I do get some strange things happening and then they go away.
