Rodent Damage
Hey, just a heads up that it is the time of the year for this to happen. I was in Northeast GA last week, and all was well until the morning I went to leave. My truck would crank and not fire - after a little research I suspected the #27 fuse or maybe a fuel pump relay, but no luck. Had to have it towed to a garage where they eventually discovered wires leading to the CPS and cylinder head temp sensors chewed. 10 hours labor plus parts. I have heard about the Bounce dryer sheets, does anyone have any other preventative measures they take?
I've had/have rodent problems for years and multiple vehicles. Chewed wires and hoses. I've tried every trick in the book including google. "My rats" actually took the dryer sheets and made a nest with them. I've tried soiled kitty litter, a battery connected hi-frequency emitter under the hood, you name it.
the best thing I've found is "peppermint spray". You can even buy peppermint "tea bags" that hang .
but with the peppermint spray, my wife buys a small bottle of pure peppermint oil, I put a teaspoon or so in a spray bottle with water, and every couple weeks open the hood and wet everything down, it's also very safe on all components and materials. Plus added bonus when you turn fresh air cent on, get fresh scent.

I used cotton rounds found in the health and beauty department at walmart. Straight peppermint oil on the pads. Put in where the rodents like to nest, (poop) is a good indicator. Need to refresh with oil every two weeks.
