Road Armor Bumpers are NOT Ecoboost Combatible
just wanted you all to know i spent 3K on a road armor bumper and winch set up for my 2012 Ecoboost....since putting on the bumper, my turbos have shut down no less than three times, once in a heavy cross wind and twice under tow conditions. i cut the damn logo out to improve airflow cause they wouldnt do it when i ordered it and I went an extra 50 or so miles before they cut out going up a hill. I called the company and they say they tested them on an ecoboost with no issue. However, i do not believe they tested them at altitude, i travel between 5500 and 8500 feet in Colorado and this bumper is just not working. i now have to take the winch out and cut out a pattern in the grill to try and get more airflow....
great looking bumper, but crappy testing, do not buy this if you have an Ecoboost.

I would look into the aftermarket intercoolers that extend up into the main grille opening if you think the intercooler is the casue for this. Ford made a huge deal about not blocking air flow on the intercooler of these trucks, it would be one of the first factors when looking at aftermarket bumpers that it would still support air flow.
Check out full race for a different intercooler if I was you..
