Ripping Music To Jukebox
#11
You know what, I bet he's depending on the NAME of the track's, which is no good. Sync does not use them. SYNC uses the Meta Data (tags). If he is using plain old wav files cobbled together from other CD's, that would cause his issue. He has no tags, thus no meta data. WAV does not support tags.
This is also a good reason to RIP every CD you have into a lossless format, such as FLAC or Windows Media Lossless. I use WMA Lossless. While WAV does not store meta data, these lossless formats do.
Whenever I need a fresh set of MP3's, I just use DbPowerAmp and point it to my folder of lossless copies, and tell it what I want and hit the button. Next morning I have a fresh batch of MP3's, all titled and tagged, ready for whatever use I need them for.
It's a hell of a lot faster than re-ripping CD's all the time, and there is no quality loss at all using the lossless formats. Not only that, but at with WMA Lossless you still get a 40% or so data space savings.
