Reverse wire?
I found a reverse wire to tap into in the driver's side kick panel. It's a blue wire with a white stripe. There are multiple blue/white wires, so test to make sure you select the correct one. Now my backup camera comes on when I put it in reverse.
Soon, I may install a switch to select whether the backup camera stays on with the switch "on", making it easier when hooking up a trailer, or is switched to activate the camera on only via placing the gear selector in reverse. I have a 2012 F-150 Lariat Crew cab.
I used a pin probe to test for the correct wire without skinning the wire insulation.

I installed a oem ford backup cam(The Camera Source), but also installed a Kenwood dnx892 HU with the Maestro RR module, and Sirius/XM tuner. So I didnt need to tap any reverse wires in the cab!
Mines wired into the stereo/maestro rr harnesses. It was a very easy install. With the 892 HU, I connected my backup cams power wire to the Accessory wire on the HU. So I can hot a button on he Kenwood, and view the BU cam anytime while in motion D/R whatever!
It is soo nice, having a back up cam now... No more running over my sons toys!
