and yes the lights are terriable... as mentioned above... light a match behind your truck .... in a huricane... you will have more light than the stock lights.

if you feel brave, do as many of us have, flush mount a set of elcheapo amazon LEDs in the rear bumper wired to the stock reverse lights... boom.... instan sunshine behind you.... cost.. $35 /pair .... or go all out with a set of $250 rigids.... definatly better and last longer, but for the ammount of use, the cheap ones work fine.
I think I will get a set of flush mounts on amazon I think it actually looks really good. On my 04 I had lights hanging from the bumper off some brackets I made but the flush mount looks more clean/factory to me.

The backup sensors stop working. It gives you a message to check them.

From tapping into the 7 pin for power? Or where exactly did you tap into, I was going to just tap into the reverse light pig tail.

No problems here as well. It's hit and miss. I think it has to do with the amperage draw.

i only used the reverse wire to turn on the relay and then added a switch to manually turn the on. I think I had one of the more complicated setups.

That's actually a pretty good idea I like that! I was thinking of doing a similar set up to my factory reverse camera so it comes on in reverse or when I flip a switch (then you can keep an eye on a load on a trailer that's not big enough to see over tailgate like my canoe)

I tapped into the reverse tail light light power for my backup lights and grounded it to the trailer ground.
