Tap into a fuse from the fuseblock that gets power on ignition for the white wire. Tap into the turn signal wire with the orange wire. Not sure which color is the correct one, but with a voltmeter you can figure it out pretty quick, and then ground it on the fender screws. If you need more details than that, I can get pictures and exsct wire colors/fuse numbers off my truck for you tonight. Best of luck.

Do not tap the amber portion into the turn signal circuit!
Do you have any more switchbacks installed?
If not, you may be OK adding the additional current to that circuit. Provided you install some LED turn signal bulbs to lower the overall current draw on that circuit.
If you exceed 2.25A on the turn signal circuit when flashing, you will have BCM issues.
These trucks and their electronics are very particular. The stock bulb will pull around 2 Amps when turn signal is activated.
With the addition of the halo (depending on the size) they can pull .75A on amber. (Need to double check my notes later)
If you would like to use it as a turn signal, you will need to install a separate circuit with 2 relays. I can give you a wiring diagram I made awhile back if needed. I also make the harness if interested.

I ran into all these issues with some of my elaborate builds. (See SIG)
One BCM and numerous headlight builds later. I have learned a lot.

I will only be using one switchback, behind the shroud. Not planning on changing my signal bulb to LED.

Give it a go. Worst case is you will need to reset the BCM if the turn signals stop working. This can be done with Forscan and a laptop. But you will need to take the switchback off the circuit before you reset.

I'm going through this right now. I only have 1 80m LED switchback halo per shroud and I wired the amber wire to the turn signal and the white wire to the +12vDC wire on the trucks main headlight harness w/ the ground to the fender screw. BUT.... they aren't working like they should. Can't get them to turn white, passenger side stays full amber and won't blink, driver side (from what it sounds needs the BCM reset) because the halo doesn't even light up and the blinker isn't working now. So if I understand this right I need to disconnect the halo wires? then reset the BCM? and then before connecting them again get a relay harness??? I have a 2012 F150.

You will need to scan the BCM to see what codes are thrown.
Sounds weird, the Amber shouldnt have any voltage on it if the turn signal doesn't work.

for the passenger side the regular blinker does work its just I think because the halo is at a constant amber it isn't blinking with the blinker as well.

Can I go to any auto part store like O'reilys or advanced auto to do the scan?

That's the thing, it shouldn't be Amber at all if the turn signal isn't working. Where is it picking up its signal or voltage? Where are you tapping the white wire into exactly?

You will need an ELM 327 bluetooth or Wi-Fi adapter along with the forscan app for a Windows computer.
