Default Replacing front bumper pad

Good morning all

I have a '13 ecoboost and would like to remove the license plate holder on the front bumper on the drivers side and replace it with a standard pad like the one on the passenger side.

Looks like just a couple screws holding it on but I'm wondering if a new pad will fit in the same space or is there any issue I need to be aware of.

Appreciate any thoughts.

If it is like the other side, 2 on my 5.0, there are tabs that need to be compressed for removal, from the back side. If re-using. My center Lic plate holder has 2 bolts and upper or lower tabs, as I recall.

Thanks guys, I think I'll change both sides just so they appear exactly the same rather than one brand new and the other side 5 years old.

They are 46.00 a piece from FORD. I know, one of mine was broken and I had it replaced at the body shop. That is ridiculous for a piece of cosmetic plastic!

Can get a pair on Amazon or eBay for under 30 bucks. I need to replace one myself, but might as well get a pair that look the same!

My local FORD dealer here in Ontario wanted $78 for just one but I ordered a pair of them for $66 from the NAPA dealer and they'll be in this morning.

I was also surprised at how easily the old ones come off.

I couldn't get at the tabs from underneath the truck or even from behind them in front of the rad but I was able to get a screwdriver under one corner and pry it up a bit then with a bit of effort they just pop right out.

Some folks, like myself, have to have a front license plate, but want a light bar, you could post the license plate holder bumper for sale in the for sale section, assuming the tabs are still intact.

Note to anyone removing them, pinch the tabs that are accessible (there are 4 ish, but you can only get to 2) and then grab hold and rip it off the rest of the way. Shouldn't take more than 5 minutes and in my case all the tabs were intact.
