Not sure where this thread should be but figured I would try here first.

In the middle of replacing the front brake pads and the new ones didn't come with the spreader spring. One of the existing ones is broken.

Does anyone know if it's ok to not use them? It looks like it. Maybe some premature wear if they are left out?

When i replace my brake pads to hawk they didn't have the hole either, so i just didn't use them and I've never had a problem in the month since they've been changed.
