I have a 2011 Lariat and when I bought the truck, I put the black FX4/Harley Taillights on it. A couple weeks ago, I busted the passenger side and ordered a new one. I got the light today, and it doesn't match the old light, or the driver's side.

Both lights have the exact same part number stamped on them, and all other information is identical between the two. But the newer one is clearly a lighter shade of gray instead of black. The part number on my invoice is BL3Z-13404-AA.

Did Ford change the color on these lights? Is there a way for me to find or get the older ones?

I know this isn't a great pic, but you can definitely tell the one on the left (new light) is much lighter than the one on the right (old lights).

If I had to guess, my 2013 FX4 lights look dark like the one on the right. Granted they are not side by side, but they do not look like the light grey ones. Go look for one on the lot and compare them. I think that's the wrong light.

Pretty sure the one on the right is the FX/Harley light the other one is the ones they use on the lower trims like XLT etc.

No, just a different shade of grey. XLT lights are chrome.

Yeah, the one on the left is just a lighter shade of gray. It's not the chrome trim ones that come with the XLT, Lariat, etc.

But since the part numbers match, I don't know what to do? If I return this light and order the same part number again, I'm assuming I'll just get another dark gray light?

I think I would take a shot, and return the odd one for another. Won't hurt to give it a try. Good luck.

Your new one... On the left. Looks like the 2010 FX2 tails. They were Gunmetal gray as opposed to the Black or chrome.

Yep... Couldn't recall when they changed FX2s to the Black tail lights.

Did the dealer have that in stock or did they order it? If in stock then maybe it was an older one.
