Replacement rear springs
Has anyone replaced their whole rear leaf spring pack?
I think I read somewhere that the spring mount bolts can't be pulled all the way out and need to be cut off, then replaced, sliding them in from the other side. Can anyone confirm this?
I had thinking about doing an AAL but did add a Hellwig helper spring set. It does ride nice and carry extra weight great.
I'm wondering if a full replacement leaf pack would be better still.
I have weight in my truck most of the time and tow a lot.
I was looking at these

Also, I'm still having a quiver when first starting https://www.f150forum.com/f38/quiver...235698/index3/
MAYBE I'm having axle wrap.

Not sure if you have seen this video, but after I watched it, I used a ratchet strap to temporarily strap down the tail of my transmission to the trans cross member. Guess what, it finally stopped the shudder.
I just ordered a Raptor transmission mount for a 2010 5.4 liter raptor. It is supposed to be a direct fit, and I have read here in various threads that it isn't as rubbery and eliminates the shudder.
I never got an answer in another thread if I was ordering the right mount or not, so I ordered it anyway from Tasca. If the new mount doesn't work, I am designing my own solid mount type trans bracket to stop this wiggle of the transmission which is no doubt what some of us are feeling inside the truck.....
Edit: Before everybody starts shouting spring wrap, that was not the issue I was having. I have no doubt that maybe some people are having that issue. But I have tried everything. Bump stops on the hole in the helper springs, clamping down the bottom overload leaf to the main spring pack, the dealer installed a shim in the back between the spring perches and the differential. Nothing worked. Matter of fact, adding the shim in the back which pointed the rear end down another degree, induced a deceleration vibration from the pinion going to negative when I let off the gas. At the time, I posted that mine was fixed after the shim and I thought it was. But I was just missing the vibration and driving around it. It was still there same as before.

Man, you 6.5 guys with the 2 piece trans just can't get away from issues. It seems that Ford engineers would have found this in testing. Darn aggravating to have to find the solution to the problem yourself. Do you suppose many or most of the 6.5 bed trucks are having this issue and most people ignore it or think it's normal?
Well what's weird is that my truck is actually a 5.5 bed truck, but still does it, but I do have the two piece drive shaft.
My truck is smooth as glass at any speed on the highway....it just did that annoying shudder from a stop.
Another thing I forgot to mention, is towing after I strapped down the trans. The shudder was almost undetectable, but it would shudder a tiny bit if I laid the mustard on the throttle. But the improvement was so vast, I was astonished....I could actually drive the truck "normal" while towing my travel trailer without vibrating the truck to death from every stop.

I need to shoot a video and see what mine is doing.
Again, The Raptor trans mount pretty much eliminated the light loaded vibration. The towing vibration is still there.

i had the same problem with shudder on take off with my Tacoma dcab lwb with 2 piece driveshaft. mine was 2005 and still having problems with 2014 Tacomas. when i put my lift Toytec 3" new front coils and AAL in back, helped but when i put a ARE cap on it all but went away. my Screw 4x4 has 5.5 bed and no shudder, seems to be smoother after putting Hellwig rear sway bar. i do know it handles better and going to replace the rear shocks with Rancho MT7000 series. i would not spend the money on a new set of springs, not going to cure the shudder. 2 piece driveshaft is the culprit along with the carrier bearing. Tacoma forum, some shimmed the cb or moved it over one way or the other.
