Replacement exhaust manifold availability
In September this year my 2009 F-150 was found to have an issue with the exhaust manifolds. The dealership advised me that they ordered the parts, but that the parts would not be available until February 2015. I contacted Ford customer service, and after several conversations I was advised that there was nothing they could do as far as expediting the availability of the parts. This is just wrong! Any suggestions? Thanks

That is nonsense.
Truck still under warranty??
My 2010 had a crack/warp in the passenger side manifold. Brought to local exhaust shop and he had it replaced in a day. Said its fairly common on 09-10 upwards of 100,000 km he has done a few, mostly passenger side. Said it was not a problem to source one out. I gave him no warning besides calling in 10mins before I dropped it off.
If you dont have to, dont deal with dealerships.

Yes unfortunately this does happen...but mostly with new vehicles since the parts are made for the assembly line and not for spares. Aftermarket may be a way to go if its available or my dealership would have "used" parts at their disposal through Keystone. That and it'll be cheaper through a wrecking yard.
Once sold a Crown Vic to a gentleman that had a fuel tank leak. As a brand new, redesigned vehicle with less than a 100 miles on it there were no tanks that could be had for over 6 months. Look closely at the Lemon Law criteria and it doesn't fit. I convinced the dealership owner to remove one from another new vehicle and replace the customers. That Crown Vic sat for 4 months until a replacement tank arrived. We also made a deal with the bank to freeze the payments on the vehicle since it was un-saleable.
I know what some are thinking... I want a new vehicle. Most dealers won't exchange the car. Then there will be those that say. "Fine I'll just leave it on the lot and they can have it back." To sum that disaster up quickly...bank payments, repossession, default payments, residual cost owed, bad credit... don't be that guy!! Oh yeah, then there's the guy that always says, "I'll sue your *****." There a few on this site...I can tell. LOL. That one makes me laugh the most...lawyers are in the business to make $$, there is little to no $$ to be made for your car predicament. And all the things you're going to complain about are in the bank and car manufacturers contract paperwork that has your signature on it.
"Law suit guys...it's your turn." I need a good laugh today.
