Default Remote Start settings in information Screen menu

There are two choices for seat heaters AUTO and off . Have mine set to Auto but they never come on either to heat or cool.

Anyone got that to work?

Also if you want defrost, it seems it has to be in defrost mode prior to shutdown to come on that way . Correct?

Not in mine. I have it set to AUTO and the Defrost and seats come on when I remote start during the winter. Will have to wait till summer to see if cool seats come on but I am sure they will.

I'm gonna try to copy and paste what it says in the owners manual for my '11 Lariat. Here it goes.....
Manual climate control
For hot weather conditions:
The climate control system will be set to MAX A/C.
For cold weather conditions:
The climate control system will be set to provide maximum heating
in (floor/defrost) mode.
Rear defrost/heated mirrors (if equipped) will be activated.
For moderate weather conditions:
The interior cabin will be heated, cooled or off, based upon the
previous operating state (last ignition-on cycle).
Rear defrost/heated mirrors (if equipped) will be deactivated.

Automatic climate control
For hot weather conditions:
The interior cabin will be cooled to 72°F (22°C).
The cooled seats (if equipped) will be set to high.
For cold weather conditions:
The interior cabin will be heated to 72°F (22°C).
The heated seats (if equipped) will be set to high.
Rear defrost/heated mirrors (if equipped) will be activated.
For moderate weather conditions:
The interior cabin will be heated, cooled, or off, based upon the
previous operating state (last ignition-on cycle).
Heated/cooled seats (if equipped) will be deactivated.
Rear defrost/heated mirrors (if equipped) will be deactivated.

mine says essentially the same - problem is that's not what happens.

can't wait to explain this to Joe service Writer

Whats the outside temperature when you start the truck? Both the true temp, and what the truck says?

A lot of times the warm engine will heatsoak the temp sensor making the truck think its warmer out than it is. I think the seat heaters only come on below 35-40, and the coolers about 70.

If you are in the middle range there, nothing will happen.

9 degrees two mornings in a row. Actually let it run 10 minutes and shut down then started again. No heat in seats at all.

Try letting the truck cycle twice on the remote start to see if the seats get warm. My '12 was terrible about the seats warming, took them forever but my '13 now get warm alot faster.

The outside ambient temp sensor is not used for climate control, the in cabin temp sensor handles that job. Think about it,.. you're not heating/cooling the outside are you? Ford engineers thought programming how to monitor and control INSIDE temp was more important.

All set on Auto

In the summer, no issues, always came on when it was hot outside.

Cold weather a different story. Manual does show 72 when hot. I went to dealer and they couldn't tell me what the low temp needs to be, they said they even called Ford. Not sure why nobody officially knows. Heat does work but very slowly. I only feel the heated seats if I start it on the 2nd start, leaving it running 20 minutes or so. You are better off wearing a second set of underwear. :-)
