Default Remote Start - is it possible?

I have a 2009 Lariat CC with auto climate control and heated/cooled seats but no factory remote start. I am wanting to put on an aftermarket remote start since I live in the wonderful world of the central Midwest where the temperatures are at extremes most months of the year. It is the family vehicle and I am ok with getting in it cold (or hot) but the rest of the family (especially the wife) is not too happy about it.

Anyways my question is whether or not I can get an aftermarket remote start to control the seats? I went in last week and talked to a sales guy at a local aftermarket shop and he looked at me like I was an idiot for even asking the question and then told me that it was not possible. He also told me that if I tried to use the factory fob or the keyless entry on the door to unlock the truck that it would set off the alarm.

What is the truth? I don't have a lot of trust in this shop after this single encounter because I have been told or read before that it is possible to control the seats with a remote start. Maybe I am just overly apprehensive since I don't plan on keeping this truck for much more than a year or two more and am having a hard time justifying spending the cash to add the remote start if it doesn't do what I would like it to do.

talk to other shops, most autostarts are able to trigger the heated/cooled seats with use of relays if needed...more involved for the shop more money for you to pay..and then bypass/security units for the alarm..

I've got the same truck and wanna do the same. I think the plug and play ford unit for 2011-2013 might work with mods.. Let us know what you find.
