Default Remote start install questions

Has anyone here installed the ford bi directional system. I picked mine up from the dealer today and planned on installing tonight. Is there anything I can skip that will be okay( like the hood tilt safety switch). Or is there anything I need to know about to get this working perfect, unlike the factory settings I've read about? Thanks for any help

If I could make a suggestion...I would skip installing it and go get a good 2 way aftermarket unit like a Compustar. The Ford units have terrible range and tend to be unreliable.

Several of the Ford dealerships in Edmonton (where remote start is extremely common because of the winters) wont install them, instead using Compustar, Viper and other aftermarket units instead.

Just my .02
