Mine sucks, especially if you compare it to other vehicles with factory remote start. New battery, no change.

Works even better if you open your mouth and face the vehicle, your skull reflects the radio signal and concentrates it. I used to have a crappy remote starter and if I was in my apartment 3 stories high I could do this and get it to start. Yay science!

Ha opening your mouth and facing the vehicle has nothing to do with it. It doesn't shoot the signal out your mouth. The remote is radio frequency and is not directional. You can just hold it under your chin and your body will act as an antenna and the signal will travel further, but that's all you need to do.

Does anyone know if you replace the battery if the key fob defaults back to original settings? I had mine setup for 2 clicks to start, it stopped working. I replaced teh batteries and now it only starts with holding it down for 2 seconds like it was out of the box.

That's why I went with the Viper SmartStart. I've had it over a year now, not a single issue. Grab my phone and she starts right up. Paid just under $300 installed.

I found my teeth could impede the signal slightly

Default Factory Spec - is there such a thing

So on my last F150 I put the two way FORD aftermarket on and it worked great.... my new one came with the package and is built into the key. The range is flat out awful and while I see it is a common complaint - I can't seem to find what the spec range is... and I know things can impact this... but in a open empty parking lot how far away can I be and expect this to work? One person told me 300ft... and yet I can't seem to get it to work 150ft. Its hard to take it in and complain if there is no factory spec associated with it. But the fact that I paid money as part of a package for something so useless is frustrating to say the least.
