U guys didn't hear me. Refinance yes, if you can get a much lower rate, for sure. I just say IMO, do it in three months.

Maybe you didn't "hear me" either (post #31).
Wait 3 mos and you'll likely refinance at used vehicle APR...

Never have. Per my credit union "new" vehicles are considered under 12 months old. Dip people really pay 9.watever rates? Dealer has offered me under 4.9 percent the last three times. Take that, on a low balance, pay it for three months, refinance at 2.5-3.8, yep.....cost me $80 -total-, to do the whole deal last time.

Think both of our points are that guys just need to be smart, and if they don't understand the money end of it, ask a friend or parent or somebody that you Trust to help.

Why wait 3 months?

You really think because you do the dealer likes you more? No, trust me he isn't thinking how can I help this man out. He is thinking how can I screw him without him knowing.

If Ford was worried about it they would have competitive rates. Simple as that!!

I have always refinanced as soon as I have account number and pay off amounts. I also have used pen fed but this past time I used credit union of georgia. They have 1.75% up to 72 months right now. I went with 72 months to have low payment if needed, but pay 650-700 a mo to pay off early.

Nope. Usually has to do with the # of miles on it, whether it's in the same calendar year, etc. I could literally have waited a whole year and 11 months to refinance, as the CU I went through counted 2013 and 2012 as qualifying for "new" rates.

This whole mess could be avoided by Ford Credit actually offering competitive rates.

But then again people like me who refinance are probably a small minority. Most people just pay Ford Credit and remain oblivious.

My last loan through Ford Credit in 2009 was 0% interest for 36 months. I made no attempt to pay it off early.
The 2010 SHO is still running and looking great. May consider a 2015 if they are much sweeter than the current models.
