Default Recon third brake - avoiding hardwire

Hi guys. I've ordered a smoked third brake light but I'm trying to find a way to avoid cutting out the factory plug/harness.

Is there any way to wire it in through the factory plug? Even if I was to order a new harness or plug to wire into that way I could swap back to the factory third brake light if necessary.

Maybe this isn't possible. But I don't see why it wouldn't be.

If someone with knowledge relating to this could provide me with feedback it would be much appreciated.

(Yes I've browsed through the raptor third brake light and a recon third brake light thread but neither seem to even discuss this idea. )

Splice into the wire before the harness?

Looks like that will be my best bet. I just figured if I bought another harness/plug I could tie into that and then make it plug and play. That was my goal. Thanks for the answer though !

Yeah I know what you wanted to do, but I don't think that harness is available, maybe someone else will correct me

If you are willing, you could always pop the pins out of the connector itself, and wire directly to the pins,

Try these. No cutting of the factory harness. Used these wiring in an new HU on my 2012, work great.

Nope, either grab a harness off an old light and splice it into the new one to PnP.

I just soldered mine, it's $90 and I'll just leave if I trade it in.
