Default Rear window leak

2014 SCREW FX4

This morning after raining all night I went outside and put my work stuff in the back and noticed there was water on the rear driver side seat right beside the headrest, so I felt along the window behind the headrest and sure enough it's pretty wet back there. The headliner doesn't appear to be wet, it looks like it dripped down along the back glass on the driver side.

I had to get to work so I didn't investigate much yet, but what are the odds it's the third brake light? I replaced the third brake light a couple of years ago with the OEM raptor brake light with the updated gasket.

I'll probably start by sealing up the third brake light, but the fact that it's only the one side thats wet and the headrest isn't soaked makes me think that it might be leaking from somewhere else...

Thoughts?

The gasket on your OEM 3rd brake light should have been updated. They're much thicker than the original on the 2014 vs earlier years. Could try putting the old one back on to see if it happens again. Also make sure when you installed the Raptor light it didn't not crack around the screw holes from being over tightened.

Could also try taking soapy water and soak the 3rd brake light. Start the truck and crank the AC. See if bubbles start coming from the light and apply more soapy water if needed. If you see bubbles there's your problem.

So with this soapy water, I watch for the bubbles on the outside of the truck around the brake light?

If it is the window, see if your insurance will cover it. If not, it isn't that difficult to remove. Removing the old sealant is messy though.

Yes that is correct. Visually inspect the light as well for cracks, especially around the screw holes.

Could also take a hose, just hammer it with water and see if it leaks. This method would introduce more water into your truck though.
