Unfortunately it's the wife's daily driver so I'll be hearing about this every winter for years to come...

Mine says right on the window sticker that it has a rear window defroster. I can't find it.

Maybe it's hot air???

My truck is the exact same, heated mirrors but no rear window defrost. And it is not just a matter of scraping the window. Because of the size of the cab, the rear window just does not stay clear of moisture or frost with the air heat alone. I checked with an automotive glass shop for the price of a rear window with the defrost on it- $ 500 Canadian, just $50 more than a plain window- go figure. So I kinda gave up on that idea at that point. But it would not surprise me if the connectors are already in place to after fit this, though I cannot confirm that.

If you have it (you will see the lines across the back window) its a switch next to your air controls switch on your dash. the switch also controls your heated mirrors if so equiped

Default Rear Defroster

My 09 screw is already per-wired for a defroster. It's powered by the mirror defroster button on the dash. The plug for the rear windows is located behind the passengers rear seat. Drop the top of the seat down, pull back the cloth insulation matting below the window and there it is. It's a single contact male plug.
I checked with a local glass shop and I can get a new window with the defroster grid for $120.00 installed, just have to check to see if it's tinted or not

I saw the HTD Mirror on the sticker when I bought my truck but then couldnt find the button to operate it. It took me a while to figure out that the rear defroster and heated mirrors work with the same button. And FWIW I have a 2010 lariat.

Following the lead from the thread below I flipped down my back seat and found the defrost and power slide connections but I don't get any power from the defrost lead.

Does anyone know what relay and fuse is needed to make this connection live?
