11 inches wide by 53 inches long. To get the shape of the seat for height in front and back I held the board up to the seat and traced out and cut on the band saw. I made the inside boxes to the size I needed for what was going in there. Locked compartment fits my glock perfect and the hinges are covered by carpet so all u see is the key slot. Cost me 15 bucks for this project because I had the wood. Carpet was from Walmart.

I like the box. Works well with what you've got. Sometimes I get the urge to do something like this, but I keep my shotgun under the rear seat when I'm traveling so that wouldn't quite work.

Well you could make it to hold whatever you want which is the nice part. It easily comes out as well because I gotta throw a dog kennel in there simetimes
