Rear locker by pass

Rear locker by pass
I have been researching this mod a good amount and it doesn't sound like it would be to hard. The point would be to allow the factory rear locker tone engaged in 2WD and also at speeds above 20mph in 4WD-High.
The reasons for this do very greatly however for my application it's mostly for additional tractions on paved but slick surface (snow, slush, ice covered) when unloaded or pulling.

There was a guy here that made that. It was quite expensive.

Not to bad if it does what it says it does.
I have basicly been over all 69 pages and found very different results.
The cheapest and simple route would to be wire a rocker switch and relay directly into the ELD and use a resister to keep it from back feeding during normal operation. Of course his product claims that by doing that you risk burning out the ELD coil but I have not confirmed any of it.

There is a very good reason why it only works at low speeds. It is only needed to get you moving. If you're driving around with the rear axle locked on icy roads you'll increase the odds of ending up in a ditch when cornering.

That statement is very situational and not exactly true. Ford has to allow it to unlock for liability reasons just like Toyota does. However there are situations that I encounter regularly where keeping the rear locked would help with traction and help it to (keep moving forward).

You think people want this for roads?
