Default Rear axle assembly swap!

Hello I’m new here and have a question about swapping rear ends

I bought a 2011 f150 platinum from an auction that was wrecked. The rear axle on the passenger side was bent in the accident. So I’ve been hunting down a rear axle assembly for the last week. It’s got 3.72 gear ratio with a 9.75 ring gear without electronic locking differential. I found a rear end assembly at a scrap yard that has the same gear ration and the same size ring gear but it has the electronic locking differential. My question will the axle work without hooking up the electronic locking differential.

Yes. When locker is not engaged the axle will function perfectly fine as an open differential. If you want you could even wire up the locker to a switch in the cab.
