Default Real World 5.0 MPG

Mileage from a trip back in May. Mixed driving, 2 lane, interstate, hills and gravel. I did use cruise control about 1/4 of the time.

After refueling...

The actual calculation on paper was 20.3 MPG! Eco5.0.

5.0 is pretty comparable to the eco.

Last time I was on the highway I did 22-23 MPG, if I didn't have the 3.73 rear I bet i'd be getting close to the rated 29 MPG

They do pretty decent when not hauling

About 90% highway at around 55 to 70 depending on the speed limit. Anywhere around/over 70 and your mpg drop significantly. Truck is a 2013 5.0 xlt 4x4 3.55 rear end screw on 275 65 18

I take a trip once a month of about 450 miles. I stick with 75 MPH on cruise control most of the way. Averaging about 18.5-19 MPG the last few trips. I've only broken 19 MPG a few times, but it usually doesn't last. I still think it's pretty decent considering my speed. If I slowed to 70 I'm guessing it would help, but I'm kind of inpatient ha ha. 2012 FX4 SCREW 5.0L in case anyone was wondering.

Yep, it's better than people think. I live in the Ozarks where there's a HELL of a lot of small hills, stop and go traffic, etc. Probably 75% of my driving is stop and go.

Even with that, I'm toeing 17mpg.

I have 7,500 miles on my 2013 scab, and I've never come close to 20. Between 13 &16 mpg is what I see.

will be putting my MPT tuned 5.0 to the test in a couple weeks on a 6hr road trip to florida. Undecided on whether to run the Economy or Performance tune. Both net similar mileage with the performance tune giving a more enjoyable driving experience.
