Minor bashing or major bashing each is unwarranted when the company is willing to do something for you. Was there a clause anywhere where you are entitled to your money back on a broken item. The company is willing to replace, which pretty much any company dealing with a situation like this would do. BTW I agree that the bashing on Bilsteins is unwarranted as well. They are both good companies and both have decent product at the price point.

Rancho won't give me an RMA and stated that I must return them to the seller, leaving me saddled with shipping costs of some rediculous sum and then the retailer has to do the same.

The reality is, if the product does not perform as advertised then there will be unhappy customers! Yes the company can stand behind the product all they want but the customer will loose faith in the company and products.

It's frustrating especially when you drop a good amount of coin, then more coin to install and this happens. Yes they will warranty the product but then you still have to pay to have the broke ones uninstalled, stock ones put back on, then shipping for broke ones, then if you want to go with them again pay out of pocket again to install new ones in hopes that they don't break again.

To any reasonable customer that is a lot of money out of pocket "hoping" they make good on quality.

Yes you could save money and do it yourself but that's a couple days wasted for something that shouldn't have happened in the first place and not everyone has the KSA's to do it.

I understand all of this and it also falls into the realm that you should understand that when you start modifying things from stock you are assuming responsibility if things go south. I agree with a lot of the points you are making, but modifying anything in the auto world costs money.

Did they give a reason for no RMA like an unauthorized retailer for their product?

No, plain and simply put "We do not do RMA's, you must return them to your retailer."

Sure, modifying does take some assumption. If you added leveling shocks and the A arm broke or something like that then I would be OK with it as it was me who modified the angles and would assume responsibility BUT the part that broke was not a result of a modification, it was a manufacturing defect and the part broke so there is no assumption other than Rancho should take care of it.
