Default Radio Weirdness

When I restarted my truck today, after washing it, the radio came on. I know for an absolute fact that the radio was not on when I parked my truck and turned off the ignition. This is not the first time I have noticed radio weirdness.

What happens most often is if I have the radio on when I park and lock the truck, when I return to the truck and unlock the doors, the radio will come on (I can hear it from outside of the truck). The instant I open the truck door the radio shuts off.

WTH is the purpose of the radio coming on again when the truck is unlocked, then shutting off when I open the door?

And what happened today when the radio "turned itself on" when I started the truck?

Anyone else had these experiences?

FWIW, the only issue I have had with mine is when set the radio to USB to play my ipod and I turn off the truck get out and get back in and start it up, it will occasionally go to AM radio, and not return to USB until I hit the USB button. somewhat annoying, but does not do it all the time and it's a quick fix by the push of a button....

so it's turning on before you unlock and get in... are you starting it remotely when this happens?

Sounds pretty weird. Did you ever see the movie Christine?

Sometimes, but not always. But regardless, why is it turning OFF when I open the truck door?

Yes, this happens to me too, although it rarely returns to USB with one "push of a button." It usually involves many many button pushes. i.e. Push AUX, then MENU, then arrow forward twice, then OKAY, then OKAY again.

After this, it MIGHT return to the USB. Otherwise pushing OKAY a few more times usually does it.

Wow, that's no good....kinda wish sync had more updates, and could even push those updates when your phone was connected. But I guess unless its not a major bug fix, its no joy for the 2010 versions.

when i use my USB it also does that. in the summer it would never do it but as soon as it got cold it started doing it all the time. when it does it to me i just unplug my USB hold it in my hand for a minute and warm it up them plug it back in and use the voice command to turn it back on but it is such a hassel. Has anyone else noticed how brutal the quality of sound of the music is while using sat radio i definatley wont be paying for that when my free 6 months is up.

My Sync in Chester has never failed me without any up-dates.

Sometimes up-dating things can cause all sorts of unforseen problems.

I've got 3 devices paired, went from a Blackberry Storm to a HTC Thunderbolt 4G with absolutely no problems.

Flash drives, bluetoothing Slacker thru my phone, aux. input, USB port.

Everything involved with Sync works really well for me.

Only problems I've encountered is operator's error.
