I know I had asked that question of you guys before too, and most/all of you have had something added by the dealer. I swear it's a dealer install process that is messing up your hardware/software.

The same thing is happening to my truck.....dis-heartening, but not as bad as my brothers EB that blew a hole in both sides of the block.

The check engine light issue was a corroded harness to the evap canister vent solenoid from the PCM, which is a little scary to me. My truck only has 18k, and is less than three years old! I hope this is not an indicator of future wiring issues!
It appears all they did related to the battery message was replaced the battery, and reflashed the PCM. I don't have a warm fuzzy feeling that this is the last I have seen of this issue. If (when) this message appears again, I will have them order the sensor that seems to have fixed some of your issues, and go from there.
UPDATE TO THE UPDATE:
Well, it has been about three weeks since I picked up.my truck at the dealership. So far, all is well. BUT, I ran into the tech that worked on my truck last week when I was walking through the shop, as I am there every couple of weeks on business. He asked how my truck was. Told him so far, so good. Asked him what he did to fix it the second time around. The answer? - absolutely nothing! They could not get the message to appear for the three days they had it. He drove it, the service director drove it - nothing! Now I REALLY have a bad feeling this is not the end of this.

For the record, I do have a Viper remote start/alarm system, and a Kicker hideaway sub. Both were professionally installed. I was fully expecting the dealer to blame one of those items, but they did not. These we both installed shortly after I bought my truck, and have had no issues until this happened. I seriously doubt this issue has anything to do with aftermarket accessories. The boys at FOMOCO need to get off their executive butts, and get to the bottom of this! They have a rather impressive repair facility right on the grounds of the corporate offices in Dearborn, where they all have their vehicles serviced ( I have personally been there many times.) I cannot believe not a single F150 corporate demo has not had this issue come up at some point. If that is the case, they can play with mine when it happens again, so they can figure this out!

I agree.... What a pile of crap. Do they really think anybody is going to buy that explanation.
Funny when I dropped 48 grand the dealer never mentioned the I had to drive it a lot or I would get an error message. Besides I've driven from Edmonton to Calgary and back. It's something like 600 km of driving. The second I turn the key off I see that stupid message. So I also call "bull****" on that one.

Mine just did this at work today. I'm not sure if I left a light or something on, but when I got in the truck after work to come home, only about a 2 mile trip home anyhow, the radio wouldn't play and gave me the low battery saver message. I drive a bunch of short trips back and forth to work, but after i got home and let it sit an idle for a bit I turned the key off and the radio played fine for about 3 or 4 minutes. That was enough for me and I didn't want to wait around for it to mess up on me again. Hopefully it doesnt keep happening. I have to go to the dealership anyhow to get my front passenger speaker worked on, so if it keeps it up I'll ask about it.

I told my SA that what that statement boils down to was this : ' We really don't know what else to say right now so let's just say it is normal and blame aftermarket if it's not' He said 'well I can't really comment'

FWIW, this was happening before the Ford Remote Access system and my AMP Powersteps were added to the truck.

So there Ford.

true - it's not the end of the world with my truck but I EXPECT IT TO WORK AS IT IS INTENDED TO WORK, AS IT IS DESIGNED. This function is NOT.

Has your battery ever actually just died in your truck. I'm pretty sure I caught all of your replies and it hasn't, but I just wanted to make sure.

some more fuel for the fire, and another truck added to the "still happening" pile

I've had the truck 1 year,
just over 16,200kms on it,
and had a "service advisement" performed on it regarding the "battery saver" message appearing on the radio which involved a new wiring harness being replaced (although I don't know where, or which harness)
yesterday it went in for the 16k maintenance, and to look at the re-occurring "battery saver" message that has come back since the service advisement was performed.

end result, new battery, dealer says "problem solved" and I got it back today.

Will see how long it takes before the message returns.

Quick Reply: Radio didn't play when vehicle turned off "battery saver"
