Default Radio Changing Volume By Itself

Last night while driving home my radio started raising the volume by one click and then shortly after it would lower the volume click, always in this order settling on the original volume I had set in the end, it did this probably 20 times in a 15 minute period, but as soon as I hooked up a scanner to see what was happening it decided to behave itself for the next 50 minutes after which I gave up.

Has anyone else had this problem of the radio volume changing without any user input, and if so what was your solution to this problem?

Do you have speed sensitive volume enabled.

The faster you go the louder it gets.

The radio in my truck has volume settings that correlate to vehicle speed which makes more noise the faster you drive so volume is increased/decreased incrementally. The setting can be adjusted in the radio menu for user preference.

I've had a similar problem with my truck. Every time I farted while driving the windows would go down and back up again by themselves. This high tech stuff is getting out of control.

Sounds like the guys have you covered.

Mine done this once. The volume **** was hung up between notches. The volume bar would be on the display as if you adjusted the volume. all I did was turn the volume **** just a bit, and has not done it since.

It wasn't the speed sensitive volume in this case, it was very random and didn't seem to coincide with anything like speed or hitting bumps, even sitting still it would just go up and down by itself. I just hope it either never does it again or quickly starts doing it all the time so I can find out what's causing it; if it continues to stop doing it every time I hook up my scanner it might drive me crazy lol.

With one of my old cars I had a door ajar switch fail right as I started a 8 hour drive, the constant dinging was not fun at all, but at least it was constant and easy to figure out once I got where I was going. Intermittent problems that don't throw codes to leave clues are just annoying.

I'm hoping that's all it was, I gave the volume **** a good spin and the steering wheel buttons a good exercise, I guess only time will tell, but it hasn't happened again since last night when the problem first occurred.
