Does it make anybody else mad when someone thinks your truck is orange? Overheard a guy refer to my truck as orange in a parking lot tonight.

 

i've had mine since thursday and i haven't had that problem yet. i've gotten tons of compliments on the color too

 

Got tons of compliments also. Love the color. Definitely stands out.

 

It's very close in color to my brothers Vibrant Red 93 Cobra which I believe is a little more orange than the Race Red...it's close.

 

Not me! I love the orangish tint! I wish they made the molten orange from the raptor on a f150!!

 

Yea at night under the lights it does seem to turn orange.

 

i have been told it looks orange if you are close to it. but from a distance where you can have the whole truck in your point of view its the brightest red that red can get.

 

The Race Red does actually have a little bit of Orange in it. That's the whole reason I like the color. Therefore it doesn't bother me when someone calls it Orange. There is Orange in it. That's what makes the color special.

If it was a regular Fire Engine Red I wouldn't be interested in it.

Sorry I'm naturally attracted to any paint/color threads. As I paint cars for a living .

This is only true for PPG envirobase, I can't speak for other paint manufacturers. But Ford does use PPG envirobase at the factory.

Race Red paint code PQ uses these 3 tints to make up the color

T447 bright red. For 85% of the color
T438 rose. For 10% of the color
T404 transparent black. For 5% of the color

T447 is a yellow shade red. Used in large quantities(such as race red) the color will have a yellow tone. Yellow+red=orange.

I have vermillion red myself. But I actually love both race and vermillion reds.
