Race red bumper issues
So I don't understand what's going on with the race reds but my front bumper is horrible. The truck just turned 4 years old sold in December of 2012 and it's only the front bumper. Today I was parked next to another race red and the owner informed me that his truck was also a 2012 and having the same issue. I am posting pictures of my bumper and want to see if other members are having the same problem.
You can see the paint blistering every where.

My 2011 Race Red with 100,000km on it is in great shape minus the rockers starting to rust. And i live in Ontario, Canada.. We have terrible winters and lots of salt .
My brothers 2010 Gun Metal Grey(or DSG?) is rusting like that. His rear bumper(drive side) is almost gone, and the front isn't in much better shape.

Not sure how to address the issue. Ford basicly told me to kick rocks even with it only being 4 years old. Looks like my options are as followed.
Pay to have it repainted.
Swap it out to chrome.
Or buy a new painted bumper for $420 from ford.

I would advise getting it repainted (provided the rust isn't too far along), and during the repaint get the back side painted black, or have the back bed lined. The back side will get salt/sand building up and can rust from the back to the front.

My 2011 is doing the same only not as bad as yours. I have 80,000 amd only drive it on the weekends. The rest of my truck is absolutely perfect, not a ding or scratch anywhere.

This is not color specific. Happens to all colors.
Ford won't do anything because they outline in the warranty that they do not cover rock chips. Which is how this happened. They have never covered rock chips.
Simply luck of the draw. My 6 year old 2010 RED stx doesn't look anywhere near as bad, and i have 90k + miles, and live on a gravel road.
You could have it repainted then have a stone shield applied after 30 days. Or have a spray on stone shield applied as clear coat.

I can't speak for how the damage occurred in picture #4, but the first three sure look like the after-effect of stone chips to me.
My oxford white '14 looked like a 3 year old bumper after about 6 months of ownership after multiple stone chips. I had grown accustomed to the plastic bumpers of the Rangers I owned, and forgot that the F150 bumper was steel. Had I been thinking, I would have had the entire bumper protected with 3M film like the hood and fenders. Will definitely do that after I have it repainted.
