Hi all. I'm ordering a new 2012 xlt this weekend. My previous f150 (04-08 gen) is red. I'm not sure what shade other than red, not maroon. I see the new trucks have vermillion, race, and candy red. I don't like the candy, I drove a truck with that color and didn't dig it. What's the difference between race red and vermillion?

I was pretty set on race red, the dealer said that was close to mine now, but I saw one on the lot that looked a little orange-ish red. Don't want that, just the same color I had before.

I'm also kinda partial to the white and green color as well.

I know I'm partial here, but race Red is the nicest red EVER produced!

I have a vermillion 2010 STX. Race red is a new color for 2011. And yes it is more orange. Do a search for race reds. There was a really good picture thread not even a month ago for race red only! I had never heard of it before that thread....which is sad...cuz I'm a painter at a body shop!!!! Haha!!

 

I went to the dealership to compare the reds. Being able to see them together, I don't like that race red. There's a lot of orange in that color and I just don't dig it, looks like a McDonald's color. My truck color on my 04 is pretty much between the red candy and race red.

So now I'm undecided. The order doesn't go in until monday so I have all weekend to decide. My wife likes that pale adobe color. One of my rangers was sorta like that color and at the time I dug it, but not so much any more. I think for me it's between red candy and white.

 

Candy red is the best red in my opinion.

I dig all the reds...but prob my color the best, vermillion. But I'm biased!!! Haha!!
