Default Quiet catback?

2013, screw, ecoboost
About to swap out my stock downpipes for MAK's performance cat less downpipes. Would like to free up airflow in the exhaust, but also don't want drone and obnoxious sound... Just looking for recommendations for a free-flowing catback system that will quiet the cat less downpipes a bit. Thanks everyone

I have a Borla Touring and really like it. It's advertised as their quietist system.

I have Borla Touring on both my 3.7 Mustang and on 6.2 F150 and love the way both sound.

The stock exhaust is a very free flowing exhaust. The downpipes have a little more restriction but you won't notice that until you go way beyond stock with mods to your engine. These trucks were actually designed to flow very well. I think the biggest air flow issue is with the CAC piping but even then you need to be pushing the limit on mods before that makes sense to upgrade.

We have a great Thunderstorm 3" catback exhaust system for your truck that is on special right now with free shipping as well. Our Thunderstorm cat back systems are manufactured with Corsa Performance's patented RSC drone free technology to help eliminate unwanted rasp and drone when used on an otherwise stock exhaust. Having downpipes will make the system a bit louder which then is not guaranteed to be drone free, but it still sounds excellent. The systems are available in 2 different sound levels which are considered "Sport" and "Extreme". Our systems out of the box are the Sport setup which is the quieter option and then you can add the resonator delete pipe option for customer's looking to go to the louder "Extreme" option as well. But it sounds like you would be more interested in the Sport sound level which would keep the the stock resonator in place which helps to cut down on rasp and drone which are 2 common issues with many of the EcoBoost F-150 exhaust systems out there today. I would strongly advise against doing an oversize 4" or larger catback also in case you have been considering any since we've experienced loss of low end torque / power when going too large on the exhaust. We have found the 3" systems to be optimal for the best balance of performance and sound as well on these trucks. Feel free to give us a call if you'd like to discuss the options further or to place an order as well and we would be happy to help out. 313-561-5500 Ext 1

Here is a link to the exhaust on our website for pricing and more information as well. This link is to the polished tip system which looks more like a chrome finish. We also offer the system in a black polish finish which is more like black chrome as well.

Our Flowmaster Force II Cat-back System will have a moderate exterior exhaust tone and mild/stock interior resonance (drone). This is a great system for a daily driver and subtle enough that with the addition of larger downpipes and catalytic converter removal it still won't wake the neighbors. This Cat-back is manufactured from 409S stainless steel, mandrel bent piping, and all hardware is included, no additional purchases are necessary. This system will allow you to run the exhaust directly out the rear of the vehicle or out the sides just behind the rear tires. The best thing about this exhaust system is you'll be covered by our lifetime, limited warranty. I have included a short YouTube clip below for you to take a look at and if you have any questions about this system or any of our other intake, exhaust or tuning products for your ride please do not hesitate to PM me or give us a call at 707-544-4761.
