Well, finally had a day with sun and no rain. I got under the truck and found this:
Of course, that's the emergency brake cable rubbing the inside of the rear tire. The blocks in the rear raised the truck to the point of causing the cable to shorten too much. I ended up just getting a couple of steel cable ties and wrapping them around the frame and cable. Anyone else had this issue? I assume to fix it the right way, I just need to buy the entire brake cable in a longer length? My truck has a 5.5 foot bed; I wonder if I can get a cable for my same model year, just the 6.5 foot bed version?
BDS lift kits come with brackets that relocate the emer brake line on their 4" and 6" lifts. Check out their installation instructions and see if that helps.
