If I get off road tires like Nitto trail grapps do I still have to air down to take my truck down to the beach?

It's just a pain in the butt and time consuming to air down and air up?

 

If you have enough grip with them aired up then no you don't have air down. Airing your tires down is only to keep you from getting stuck which would be way more time consuming trying to get out than just airing them down. A lot of times I just put my truck in 4wd(regardless if it is needed or not) and start of in 2nd gear without needing to air down. I usually only air down if I start to feel like I am getting stuck or about to go into real loose sand.

 

Depends on how wide your tire is. 2wd or 4wd? Ive had good luck in sand with 4x4 and 285s, never had to air down.

 

It's an fx4 so 4x4. I'm considering putting Nitto trail grapp 285/65 18's on my stock rims. So I shouldn't have to air these down?

 

No not at all I pull my boats out of the water at are lake house in beach sand all the time and I just have to put it in 4 low. Only because I have a boat behind me and its a good size boat. So you should not have to worry at all
