Default question about door code

Hey out there, this is not related directly to my F150, but it would probably help as well. I have a 2014 Escape that has the door key pad on the drivers side. It did not come with a card that has the master code. The dealer says I have to bring it in so they can hook up the computer to get the code, is that the only way. Was hoping the Ford Service rep would have some answers for me.. Thanks all..

should work the same...just went to double check....
both original keys needed..
cycle one key to on only.. remove and cycle the second key.. the code will come up on display..
mine didn't match the paper that came with the truck but worked to unlock the doors.. from there you can program your own code. the factory code remains always..

Look on your bcm (fuse box) and there should be a sticker there with your factory 5 digit code

did both and no go. Escape has push button start, but that should not matter.. When you say on, you do not mean start, just to the on position

Here I am! I had to do a little digging on this.

If you'd like to program your own code until you can get to the dealership for the factory code, check out page 63 of your Owner Guide. If you'd like to stick with the factory set code (or are otherwise having a difficult time setting your personal one), it can only be obtained from your dealership using diagnostic equipment.

If you do decide to visit the dealer for this, please know that you'll need to produce two pieces of identification: personal, such as a valid Driver's License, and vehicle documentation with the VIN and your name (Registration, Certificate of Automobile Insurance, Vehicle Title, or Bill of Sale).

I hope this helps!

Thanks for the help you two! These are both viable guesses, as the code is sometimes found inside the vehicle behind a panel, this is just not the case with ocwill1's. It really just depends on the make and model whether or not this is available.
