And I don't think I've had any ships on the rocker panels on any of the 4 F150's I've had in the past. I wasn't planning on getting the 3M for them. I'm more concerned about the front.

We install SunTek PPF and we have a lifetime warranty against yellowing. The waxing is a myth. Waxing clear bra will not stop it from yellowing. While you can wax it, it is not necessary. As for installing it, I would definitely let a professional do it. This film alone is expensive. So if you mess it up, you are out of luck. We use a pre programmed plotter to cut our kits and on trucks the front bumper is not part of it. Those we have to cut by hand on the truck. There are a lot of clear bra manufacturers out there, while 3m is the most known. There are others comparable.

Just had "3M Deluxe Paint Protection Film" applied to the front bumper of my new 2012 F150 XLT with custom package (painted bumpers) for $250 from my local Ziebart dealer 2 days ago. In came with a 10 year warranty (in writing) against cracking, lifting, peeling or discoloration. If any of those happen, it will be replaced at no charge. It is a little thicker/heavier than the little pieces of protective film that Ford puts on the bumper edges and other parts of the body in certain places on the truck from the factory. My only issue is that it doesn't "wrap around" to the bottom, top, or sides of the bumper. It only covers just the front. They have a plotter that cuts all the film to the "correct" size for the vehicle. This is the first time I've had painted bumpers, so I thought I'd better "wrap it" to be safe!!
